Dr Lennart Verhagen
Dr Lennart Verhagen, of the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour, is a cognitive and translational neuroscientist, studying brain circuits across species, taking a systems level approach to develop neuromodulation tools for basic research and clinical treatment.
He uses both non-invasive brain stimulation and neuroimaging techniques such as transcranial focused ultrasound neuromdoulation (tFUS/tFUN), often combined, to study how we make decisions and plan our actions. In recent years, Lennart has worked on transcranial ultrasound stimulation, developing it as a new approach for non-invasive, focal, deep, and long-lasting neuromodulation.
Lennart joined the Brainbox Initiative to discuss his groundbreaking tFUS research at the Brainbox Initiative Conference 2019 as part of his talk Next generation brain stimulation: non-invasive, deep, focal neuromodulation with ultrasound. We are delighted to welcome Lennart back to the Brainbox Initiative Conference 2020 where he joins us as chair for our transcranial focused ultrsound session.
